Le Parc Monceau {April's Counterfeit Kit Challenge Reveal & Blog Hop}

Hello! Hello! A new month means a new 'kit to counterfeit' from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge and, after last month's minimal kit, we're working with a more 'traditional' scrapbooking kit with lots of counterfeiting opportunities! This month we're counterfeiting kits from C'est Magnifique February Kit 'Enchanted Garden'. Each of the C'est Magnifique Kit Reveals includes a Main Kit, Mixed Media Kit, Paper Add On, Flower Add On and an Embellishment Kit, so there's a lot to be inspired by this month!

If you've been following the blog-hop from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge you'll already have seen the inspiration kit - in it's full glory - and, of course, have seen the amazing kit that our Guest Designer, Louise Brooks, created. (I have seen some of the sneaks from her upcoming projects as well and, oh my, we're in for a treat this month!)

When creating my own kit (which I'm, fancily, calling Le Parc Monceau) I was hugely inspired by the floral, fleur-de-lys; newsprint; and vintage style of the inspiration kits, so started there when selecting cardstock and patterned papers. I must admit I was a little surprised by how many florals I found! I've also added in some amazingly lovely selections that remind me a little of vintage wallpapers - but in modern colours - so I have lots to work with!

To build on the 'shabby-chic' theme, and to emulate some of the items found in the Embellishment Add On, I raided my own stash of embellishments including an eclectic selection of ephemera; notecards; stickers; die-cuts; frames; doilies; buttons; bling; lace; ribbon and vellums.

Already, this selection will be causing my team-mates to keel over in shock - as I am normally very sparing with my embellishments - but I didn't stop there!

Just in frame, there at the back, there's a simply stunning floral mask that I don't use often enough, so I've included it in my kit (along with some watercolours and a small selection of mists) as a 'nod' to the Mixed Media Kit.

Finally there's a selection of smaller embellishments, all of which are bringing me so much happiness! I've included some rolled roses; crocheted doilies; twines; smaller laces; beads; charms; buttons and leaves of various kinds!

Now, I cannot wait to see how the other members of the Design Team have been inspired by the C'est Magnifique Kits, so I'm heading on over to see Jemma's version at Just Jimjams!

  15. Late to the commenting party but better late than never when the kit is as gorgeous as this! There's a lot of stuff in there compared to your usual but it's all very much you which is perfect. This was an "interesting" kit to counterfeit and it's great to see how we all took it in such different directions. Really love what you did here
