Sunday Mornings Should Look Like This....

So, I can't sleep - it's actually just gone five thirty in the morning while I'm writing and scheduling - and to pass the time I started scouting for a few kitchen items. As you do.

Our kitchen is rather lovely. Small, but lovely. But it now that it's finished, and full of white cabinets, dark wood work surfaces and stainless steel appliances, it could do with a bit of colour - so, artwork and accessories.

I've been getting a little bit tired of the same old 'Keep Calm & Carry On' stuff, so I was delighted to spot this rather accurate picture depicting the British love of tea. (In this regard, I am VERY British!) By the time I was finished 'shopping' and putting it all together in a neat little collage, I felt very patriotic!

Have A Cup Of Tea

Since I'm still up and may, therefore, miss quite a bit of the morning, I thought I'd share my perfect Sunday morning with you. It involves books, tea, and toast with lashings of nutella - all brought up to my bed by someone else!

How do you spend your Sundays?

Edited: The Keep Calm & Carry On image is available for private, non-commercial use and there is also a downloadable desktop version. The Cosy Slippers image is from the Toast winter catelogue and the rest of the items were simply imported from Polyvore

  2. Ah, the best peace is at 5.30 in the morning, and especially with a warming cup of tea. I nearly wish I were more insomniac.

  3. I still haven't found a good way to spend Sundays, they always end up bitty with chores that need doing.
Love the poster, can I ask where you found it? Our kitchen cupboards are newly painted by the hubbie (duck egg and cream) would like a picture or piece of art to finish it off. Thanks!

  4. Love the poster. Sundays I get up whenever I get up - no alarm. Workout, and then wait around while Dave cooks me breakfast. We have a deal, I make all the weekday dinners and he cooks on the weekends. Breakfast is the best part. Have my coffee, check out some blogs, and then plan dinner for the rest of the week so I know if I have to go shopping. Then its off to the studio where I either read or work on crafty things or both, while Dave paints. I actually prefer Saturdays because I know there is another free day waiting for me. Sunday means enjoy it while you can because its back to work tomorrow. Which means a 5:30 alarm ringing. Have a great Sunday!

  5. Go Britain! I've developed a taste for tea recently and, funnily enough,Nutella...Is this your influence on me Ms. Clair?! It's the afternoon now so you should be up. If not...WAKE UP! It's a beautiful, if slightly cold, snowy and dreary day!

On second thoughts...just stay in bed!

  6. lol! Can't eat Nutella though :-( Also, I've never really liked breakfast in bed - happy to stay in bed as long as possible, but I like to be 'up' before I have anything to eat or drink! Sunday mornings for us is basically get up just in time to be ready for church... x
