Clothes Alone Do Not Maketh The Man {Fashion Forward}

As a lover of little black dresses - seriously, I am not going to tell you how many I've owned - I've always been aware of the impact that my choice of accessories has on my outfit. I love how pair of peep-toe shoes and a string of pearls can transform a plain black wrap dress from office to occasion, or how with some bright accessories and a pair of ballet flats, the same dress would be ideal for lunch and shopping with the girls.

The idea works just as well for my other staple outfit - jeans, a white tee and a blazer. Just change the height of your shoes, the colour of your belt and the brooch on your lapel and you could be two totally different people.

Truly, accessories are the perfect way to extend the wear of your clothes, or update an outfit, without spending a huge amount of money. To make your money last even longer, choose accessories that come back into fashion every few years - like animal print scarves, skinny belts and statement necklaces. If you look after them, by the time that fashion rolls around again, no-one will remember the pieces you've stashed away and you'll still be bang on trend.

Anyway, this week, I thought I'd show you a few covetable accessories that I've been lusting after. I mean, that's what this Fashion Forward gig is all about, right?
Accessories
1. The Migratory Belt available from Flight Path Designs, 2. Yellow Asymmetrical Necklace available from Julie Jongleuse, 3. Heritage Rose Ring available from Liz Hutnick and 4. Mini Frame Pouch available from Oktak.
If you've got some lust-worthy fashion items of your own to share, please add a link to your post in the Mr Linky box below and don't forget to pop back later, so that you can see what everyone else is lusting after this week. 2. Really though ... a yellow belt with birds on? What are you doing waving such joys like that under my nose .... you know I'm plotting how I can get my hands on one now!

    I love accessories and find that it's the small items I pick up really cheap / in the sales etc which later on really transform an outfit. Lovely post :)

  3. Look at that wonderful belt buckle! I'd wear it with the plainest of white outfits to make sure it was seen.

  4. Yellow never looked so good! Love that belt. And how right you are about just changing a couple of accessories and being two different people. Have a fashionable day!

  6. I really want the rose ring! The pouch is so cute, and so necessary too. I cannot tell you the number of days I walked around with too many things stuffed into a little wristlet simply so I would not have to wear a bag on my shoulder. Very nice finds!

  7. I love that little coin purse. Reminds me of my Grandma (in the best way). I think I will check out the craft store for the metal frame and try my luck at making one. I think I really need one, since I keep my change in a plastic bag (embarrassed), deep down in my oh so stylish bag!

  9. Okay, this post couldn't have come at a better time! I'm wearing a little black dress (duh) to an upcoming wedding and have been playing around with different accessories. And to think, I was planning on just wearing some gold jewelry!

    P.S. Sorry about the deletion, had something jenky going on with my name. Typical Monday stuff, you know.
