March Kit Reveal & Blog Hop {Counterfeit Kit Challenge}

It's March! Already?! A new month means a new inspirational 'kit to counterfeit' from The Counterfeit Kit Challenge and this month our inspiration is the 'Click' Story Kit from Ali Edwards. It's definitely not a 'traditional' scrapbooking kit, with no scrapbook papers, or cardstock, and an emphasis on pocket-style scrapbooking instead! The colour combination is lovely, but unusual - Green, Turquoise, Orange, White and Grey - and there's an obvious camera/photography theme (which I seem to have completely ignored when putting together my kit!)

I have a lot of camera/photography cardstock, stamps, charms, die-cuts, stickers and pocket style cards, I could have taken the easy route and used the theme as the basis for my kit. But, no, I have to make it difficult for myself and instead, I decided that I wanted to use the colours, as much I could, as the basis for my counterfeiting.

Knowing that I don't have (and never really have had) a lot of cardstock or patterned papers in the main colours of Green and Orange, I started with the embellishments and had a lot of success! I found a lot of charms, clips, stamped images, die-cuts, twine, ribbons, buttons and brads! I have an absolute haul of embellishments and I'm a little bit excited, because I don't normally add so many decorative elements to my kits!

I also found several sheets of Simple Stories Alphas in Lime, Orange and Turquoise and added them to the kit, along with a sheet of Black Alphas from Echo Park and some Sentiment Thickers from American Crafts.

I liked the Black with the Green, Orange and Turquoise so much, that I decided to use Black and White, rather than Grey and White as the 'base' of the kit. None of the cardstock is a 'full sheet' - it's all come from the scrap basket, as did the amazing 'super-find' of the Green Polka Dot Acetate!

Finally, to add a little bit more fun to the kit, I found a little stack of envelopes and a handful of Black and White Polka Dot Bags (which I normally use for my etsy store packaging!) I think both are full of potential!

Now, I'm excited to see what the rest of the Master Forgers and our Guest Designer Lesley have included in their own kits - I have a feeling that this is going to be a very eclectic set of kits! I'm hopping to Jemma at Just Jimjams who's next in line (but feel free to start at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge!)
