Late Is Better Than Never {March Counterfeit Kit}

I'm a little late this month joining in with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month - even though I was checking out the kit on the 1st March - because I went to Poland. And - even though I made my kit as soon as I came home - I've been so busy catching up with work that I haven't been able to sit down and start writing about it!

Fully intending to use the oranges of the inspiration kit as the base of my own counterfeit kit, I went in search of suitable papers and only found one orange sheet. Imagine my surprise when I realised it had those lovely hot air balloons (another element of the original kit) on the reverse side. I used that as the base for the rest of the kit then went to town pulling in papers to match.

As a substitute for the die-cut pack, I've added in a small stack of hand-stamped and hand-cut elements (using lots of my favourite stamps in the process) plus a few die-cuts that I had hanging around. The woodgrain ribbon in the inspiration kit caught my eye, so I've substituted with a strip of edge-punched woodgrain paper I had in my stash.

Pretty frames and a hadmade rose embellishment add a little bit of femininity to my kit.

When I saw the arrows and the polaroid frames in the inspiration kit, I immediately thought of this stamp set from Dear Lizzy. It's one of my favourites!

Watercolour pencils and some ink sprays are my substitute for the Gelatos in the inspiration kit. I have no idea what I might do with them, but they are in there - just in case inspiration strikes!

I seem to have a fairly large kit, for such a small amount of time, but I was so determined to at least make a start that I have one completed project already. And, if all that I manage to complete is that one project, it's still more than I managed last month! A slow return to scrapbooking is still a return to scrapbooking. Right?
