{My Creative Space}

I've been spending a lot of time this week in front of the computer - working with my photographs instead of with my hands and, as a result, My Creative Space has managed to stay relatively clean and tidy. There's always a first time for everything!

English Country Garden Vintage & Grain

I've been using Photoshop Elements to learn more about adding texture and grain to my photographs, adding a softer or more vintage feel to my images.

If you have time before heading over to Kootoyoo to check out all of this week's creative spaces, I'd be grateful if you'd tell me what you think of the effects I've used or tell me your own tips and techniques for altering your photographs.

  1. I love textures but don't often use them for shots I want to scrap, they look great framed and make lovely gifts however. I go through stages where I play around with them a lot and then I don't for a while.
    Jessica Sprague has a great class I took last year that deals with this specifically and I would highly recommend it - Photo Editing and Frame Ups. Pioneeer Woman now has actions that are compatible for PSE, you probably are aware of this, and they are great - there are quite a few that have a vintagey feel to them.
    I think half of the trick is to select the right photo to be manipulated - you've done well here! :-)

  10. I really like the first photo effect, it has a very vintage feeling! I haven't really done much experimenting with photoshop, just use the basic contrast editing, but I've used Rollip.com, some of their filters look like old photos (my moms and dads) that I have from the 70s ;)
