Wild Hare Kits: Little Cards

While I'm busy trying to finish off my Project Life album for 2017 (the end is so very *not* near) I took a little break and made some mini cards with the little bits and bobs on my desk. Sometimes making something simple is just what I need to motivate me for more!

I'll be back to share more makes with my latest kit from the Wild Hare Kits a little later in the month! Stick around!

Perfect Presents {Rinea Foiled Paper}

Today, I'm sharing some ideas for creating 'Perfect Presents with Rinea Foiled Papers.'

I had some cute, little bags on hand, but they looked a little bit boring. I decided to add to each of them with a little bit of Rinea Foiled Paper - and don't they look classy?

I have a few more ideas, so visit the Rinea Blog for a little overview!

Wild Hare Kits: Perfect Parcels

I'm having so much fun with the latest kit from The Wild Hare Kits. I know that I say it all the time, but I really think that this one is my favourite so far - I just adore the run up to Christmas! I still have lots of the kit left, so expect to see it cropping up next month along with my December Kit!

In the meantime, let me sneak in one more make for November. These little boxes are made with my kit contents and a small little bell that I stole from the tree!

Wild Hare Kits: The Monthly Sketch

My enthusiasm for all things Christmas knows no bounds. I am *still* crafting from my 'full on holiday' kit from The Wild Hare Kits and today I'm on the Wild Hare Kits Blog sharing my take on this month's sketch (created by our very own Jess!)

As usual, I've used the sketch to create a card - and was thrilled to use some of the little star dies that I've been obsessing over recently!

Wild Hare Kits: Love This Man

This layout is one of my recent favourites (made with leftover bits from my September and October kits from The Wild Hare Kits.)

I love this man so much. He's so kind. And he never fails to make me smile. Aw.

Wild Hare Kits: December Daily Foundations

Is it a little bit nuts that I took some annual leave especially to do my December Daily foundations?

I had a happy little day at home; with my latest kit from The Wild Hare Kits, some Christmas tunes and a lot of biscuits! And it's ready! Here's a little look at the foundations for December Daily 2017.

Holiday Hanging Ornaments {Rinea Foiled Paper}

Hello! Hello! It's Clair here today, and I'm excited to show off the 'Holiday Hanging Ornaments' that I've been busy making with my Rinea Foiled Paper. I am so excited to see my twinkly lights reflected in the surface of these beautiful coloured foils!

I've chosen to work with a selection of colours that will work well with my existing decorations, but there are so many colours to choose from that I am sure there's something suitable for everyone. Visit Rinea to see the tutorial for these Holiday Hanging Ornaments.

Wild Hare Kits: November 2017 Kit Reveal

Christmas has officially arrived! It's kit reveal day at The Wild Hare Kits and this time around I asked for a Deluxe Kit that would be suitable for December Daily. And I have not been disappointed!

My kit this month is absolutely chock full of the most amazing stash - and I am so, so excited to make a start on my December Daily album. I've even booked a day off work!

Wild Hare Kits: Simplicity Itself

Before The Wild Hare Kits Design Team reveal our November kits (tomorrow!) I have one last little October layout to sneak in. Well, really, because the UK kits went missing here in UK for several weeks, I have *lots* more to share from this kit - so November will most likely be a bit of a double-act!

This little layout is simplicity itself. One 6x8 photograph, combined with washi, stickers and a little sequin! Done and dusted - and, more importantly, in the album! ❤❤❤

Thank You Cards {Rinea Foiled Paper}

Since it's nearly the season of Thanksgiving, I want to share some Thank You cards that I've made with my Rinea Foiled Papers in advance, to send to friends. Of course, I should really send them as soon as I have something to be thankful for but, in the moment, I don't often have a chance.

Why not take the time now, to create a little stash of cards to have on hand? Or take the opportunity, in the season of Thanksgiving, to show a little gratitude?

Wild Hare Kits: Favourite Little Layout

Hello! Hello! I'm excited to be sharing my latest layout from my October Kit. (You can see my reveal video here - Wild Hare Kits: October Kit Reveal.) This month the DT are all working with the Petite Kits, but I still seem to have a lot of new stash! It's wonderful!

This really is one of my favourite moments from the last few months and I've created this little 6x8 layout to add into my Project Life Album for 2017. We took several, increasingly, silly selfies at the Haigh Hall Foodie Friday in June. I still can't believe how daft we all are and how much we love being daft with each other - and on camera! We had a really lovely evening!

Now, whilst I have liked all of the kits that I've received from the Wild Hare Kits, I loved this one. In fact, I am still loving it and despite the fact that I still have a lot of it left, I'm already worried about what will happen when I've used it all! I really believe that, having received a few kits now, I've worked out my own style - and what I work with most - and our curators are now able to send me kits that really hit my sweet spot!

Since I started on my kit fairly late this month (when my kit was lost somewhere in the UK!) I still have a lot to share. In the meantime, read a little bit more about how I created this layout by visiting the Wild Hare Kits Blog. The DT are over there each and every month, with more detail on all of their kits and makes. Seriously, these ladies are killing it (and I still can't believe that I am one of them!)

December Daily Foundations {Counterfeit Kit Challenge}

I've made a start on the foundations of my December Daily album for 2017. All of this has been made with my October Counterfeit Kit 'Shoreside' - which was actually based on a summer kit! Go figure?!

I love the little details that I was able to add with some mini-dies! 🎄🎅❄ I found a whole selection of them at the local craft store and swept them into my basket with wild abandon! Isn't that tree adorable?

I made a small selection of envelopes, because I love to add them into my album - with extra little notes, souvenirs, and ephemera. Some I'll add in the Pocket Pages, others I'll add in as they are, for a little bit of extra detail.

Finally, I've added a little bit of sparkle, because I don't seem able to make anything without adding a stickle or sequin! I'm now so excited to continue building the foundations of my album for 2017. December Daily is truly one of my favourite annual projects!

Clean & Simple Watercolour Card {Swedish House Crafts}

Hello! Today, I have a 'Clean & Simple' card to share, made with some of my favourite Gummiapan and Crafter's Companion items from Swedish House Crafts.

I started with some Crafter's Companion Watercolour Sheets, adding a little bit of colour in some fresh, citrus shades! Leaving that to dry, I hauled out my dire-cut machine and made a little stack of die-cuts with the Gummiapan - 2 Diamonds Die.

When the watercolour was dry, I stuck the die-cuts onto the watercolour, with the Crafter's Companion Extra Strong Permanent Glue Tape (it adheres like a dream!) then cut carefully around the edge with some craft scissors. I added the bigger die-cut diamond to the card first, then layered on the smaller diamond.

I cut some Solar White Cardstock down to 6in x 3 in (folded to create a 3in x 3in card) then cut some Printable Vellum to fit inside the card, sticking the top edge of the Printable Vellum into the fold.

Then I used the Gummipan Stamp, 'Shine Bright Like A Diamond' Stamp on the inside of the card, as a matching sentiment. Doesn't the Momento Tuxedo Black Ink look so crisp? (Please note that this lovely stamp is currently out of stock but should be back soon. In the meantime, there's also a companion 'You're A Diamond' Stamp.)

I love this combination of fresh colours with crisp white and am especially loving how easy I am finding it to use watercolours in my crafting now that I have broken them out of their box!

Wild Hare Kits: October 2017 Kit Reveal

It's finally here! My new kit from The Wild Hare Kits took a bit of a detour on it's way across the country (I like to think it had a fantastic time!) so I'm thrilled to be showing it off a little.

We all have Petite Kits this month, so I asked for items that would co-ordinate with my own stash and with some of the items from my last few kits from The Wild Hare Kits. I think I'll have lots to work with!

Shoreside {October's Counterfeit Kit Reveal}

Hello Counterfeiters! It's October (what?!) and that means that it's time for a new Counterfeit Kit Reveal and, this month, our inspiration 'kit' is the St. Tropez Collection from Prima! It's a beautiful collection, but it needed a little 'clean and modern' tweak to make it work for me!

I loved the nautical elements of the St Tropez Collection and wanted to include as much as I could of what I loved, but more 'me'. So, I had to include some red! With that in mind, I chose to include both some traditional red stripe and some florals that included a little red. I also included a lot of little red accents in the embellishments (labels, buttons, sequins and envelopes!)

I have very little navy left in my stash (I must rectify this immediately!) so included some softer blue tones and some neutrals to round out my selection. I love the sea birds. I can imagine them swirling around over head!

Embellishment wise, I've included some label stickers from French brand 'Karine', some die-cuts from Elle's Studio and an envelope from Teresa Collins. Then I raided some of the leftovers from my Inspiration Creation kits for suitable 'French elements' and found a little laser cut 'Ete' (meaning summer) that I haven't had chance to use.

No kit for me is finished until I've included a little selection of embellishments, and it seems that Prima would concur, as the St Tropez Collection includes some amazing embellishments! I've tried to include a selection that would be worthy, but with a modern twist that works well with my own kit. It includes some nautical elements - seashell buttons, little anchors and lots of blues - as well as some of the charms, beads and flowers that are typical in a Prima collection.

I'm really looking forward to working with this collection over the next month - I have some ideas already! In the meantime, I'm settling down with a cuppa while I visit the The Counterfeit Kit Challenge for all of the details of this month's kit inspiration; an introduction to this month's Guest Designer, the wonderful, Kate Blue; and, of course, the rest of this month's kits from The Master Forgers!

The Last Days of Summer

Dad and I making the most of the last days of summer with a little visit to a very 'English Country Garden.'

It's times like this that I love my Huawei Camera because he has no idea I'm taking photographs of him! ❤

Creating Cards With A Layout Sketch {Wild Hare Kits}

The Wild Hare Kits have introduced two monthly challenges, aimed at helping Wild Hare Kitters to make the most of their custom kits! Each month we'll have a Sketch Challenge and a Wild Challenge - and the Wild Hare Kits DT will be offering some inspiration!

This month, I've worked with the sketch. I'll be the first to admit that, as a non-traditional scrapbooker, I don't often use sketches, but I want to share how I've taken inspiration from our lovely sketch, and applied it to something a little different.

I was initially drawn to the lines of hearts and circles that dominate the sketch and decided that I would incorporate some machine stitching to emulate the lines. I also really wanted to use a repetitive element - like the hearts or circles - as the main focal, but wanted something a little more cheerful to work with the colours in my kit. In the end, I settled on the butterflies and am really happy with the result.

Once I'd die-cut all of the butterflies (27 in total!) I took further inspiration from the square elements in the sketch and chose to use several, layered squares as the base of my card. To finish off the card, I took my final inspiration from the floral elements in the sketch and tucked some die-cut leaves behind the main section of my card for a little bit of depth and interest. Et voila! I love it so much, that I may even use sketches as an inspiration more often!

I hope that you'll find some inspiration in the sketch to help you make the most of your Wild Hare Kit. Head on over to the Wild Hare Kit Blog for more inspiration and ideas from the Wild Hare Kit DT.

Autumnal Pocket Layout {Rinea Foiled Paper}

Hello, Rinea fans! :) Today, I have an Autumnal Pocket Layout to share that makes the most of the beautiful metallics available from Rinea. These really are some of my favourite colours of the Rinea Foiled Papers, because they are so, so versatile!

In one section of the Pocket Layout, I've combined some small, circles of the three metallic sheets with some smaller sequins in a selection of autumnal colours. The double-sided Rinea Foiled Papers are fantastic for Pocket Layouts as the colours can be matched easily to the materials used on both sides of the Pocket Layout!

On the other side of the Pocket Layout, I used a combination of die-cut letters in Copper/Copper Glossy Foiled Paper and Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.

You can see how well the metallics work within the overall Pocket Layout - and match some of the metallic elements that I've included from my own stash!
